Thoughts From the Past

Found this. I thought it rather amusing. Sometimes you just can't take life seriously anymore, it gets too weird and confusing, rather like Alice in Wonderland except the nightmare version. Anyhow.

There is freedom in cynicism, and sarcasm. I can't remember which one I meant to write about. Maybe I'll catalog both.
Cynicism offers a lot of freedom, at a closer glance. Although if overdone you'll be called a "wet blanket," you can voice valid doubts in an artistic way. If you're known for being a cynic you may not be taken seriously, which is why you have to be selective in what you're cynical about, and not just throw random opinions out. Cynicism is good in it's rightful place.
Sarcasm, on the other hand, is more of a character trait than cynicism. It's a sense of humor delivered in an ironic voice. However, sarcasm can also carry a serious note, alluding to an actual doubt that really isn't funny. Thus, something you actually worry or are concerned about is carried in a cynical joke, and the person on the other end may or may not unwrap your true meaning (depending on how good your sarcasm is, and how creative the other person is). More often than not, the phrase goes out the window as mere sarcasm (sarcastic humor); either or both sides of the dialogue choosing not to head into the deeper sense of the conversation.

I was definitely overthinking the concepts. Hah. Some things never change.
